Agreeing to these terms

These terms cover your use of the Bedrock Lafayette Concrete website and any estimate or work you ask us for. By using the site, calling us or booking a job, you agree to them, so please read them before you do.

If you sign a written contract with us for a specific job, that contract wins wherever it differs from this page.

Who we are and what we do

Bedrock Lafayette Concrete is a concrete contractor based in Lafayette, CA. We build and repair driveways, patios, walkways, steps, slabs, footings, foundations, retaining walls and other concrete work for homes and businesses in Lafayette and the cities around it. We're fully licensed and insured.

You can see the full list of services on our home page and read more about our crew. What we'll do on your property is whatever the written estimate or contract for your job describes, and nothing on this website promises a particular service, price or start date for your house.

Estimates and pricing

We give free quotes on site, and there's no pressure to book. We base each estimate on what we can see and measure the day we visit, including the size of the area, access for trucks and equipment, the condition of any old concrete and the finish you choose.

Some things only show up once the old slab is out and we're digging, like soft or wet ground under it, buried roots, old fill or hidden pipes. If we find something that changes the work or the price, we'll stop, show you and explain it before we go further, and we won't do extra work until you agree to the change in writing.

An estimate stays good for the time written on it. After that, material and labor costs may have moved, so we may need to update it.

Scheduling, weather and cancellation

We give you a start date when you book, and we do our best to keep it. Concrete depends on the weather, though. We won't pour in rain or in conditions that would weaken the slab, so we may move your date when the forecast turns, and we'll tell you as soon as we know.

Once the concrete is down it needs time to cure, which means a waiting period while it hardens and gains strength before you walk or drive on it. We'll tell you how long to stay off your job, and using it early can damage it.

If you need to cancel or reschedule, call or message us as early as you can. If you cancel after we've ordered materials, booked a concrete delivery or started work, you may owe us for those costs, as your contract spells out.

Payment

Your written estimate or contract lists the amount due, any deposit and when each payment is owed. Payment for completed work is due on the terms written there.

If a payment is late, we may pause work until it's settled, and you may be responsible for reasonable costs of collecting what's owed, to the extent California law allows.

Your part of the job

You agree to give our crew safe access to the work area, to tell us about anything buried that you know of, like sprinkler lines, drains or septic parts, and to make sure the work is allowed on your property. That includes your property lines and any approval your homeowners association requires.

Unless your contract says we'll handle it, it's your job to check with your city or county whether your project needs a permit. Once we finish, please follow our care instructions and keep people, pets and vehicles off fresh concrete for the time we give you.

Warranty and what concrete does

Any warranty on our work is the one written in your contract, and it covers only what that contract says. We don't make any other promise, spoken or implied, about the work, including any promise that it suits a particular purpose.

Concrete can crack as it dries and as the ground moves, even when it's built right. We cut control joints, grooves that give the slab a planned place to crack, so cracks show up in lines we chose instead of across the middle. Fine hairline cracks, small color differences between pours and changes from the ground shifting, tree roots, standing water, de-icing salt, heavy loads or other people's work aren't defects.

The information on this website is general and offered as is. It isn't a quote, an inspection or advice for your property.

Limitation of liability

To the extent California law allows, Bedrock Lafayette Concrete isn't liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, like lost use of your driveway, lost income or damage caused by conditions we couldn't reasonably have known about. Our total liability for any claim about a job is limited to the amount you paid us for that job.

Nothing here limits any right you have under California law that can't be limited by agreement.

If we disagree

If you're unhappy with any part of the work, call us first. Most problems get settled when we come back out, look at it with you and talk it through, and we'd rather fix something than argue about it.

If we can't settle it that way, either of us may take the matter to small claims court or to a court with jurisdiction in California.

Governing law

These terms and any work we do for you are governed by the laws of the State of California.

Changes to these terms

We may update this page from time to time. The version posted here when you use the site or book a job is the one that applies, and changes don't alter a contract you've already signed.
